DescriptionMore than 150 years ago during 1848, the discovery of gold in California drew pioneers and adventures from around the world to the California Gold Country in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Not many years later, wine making pioneers started planting vines, which produced the appropriately named, Old Vine Zin.
We begin with a relaxing drive to the charming historic town of Sutter Creek to revel in turn of the century charm. After a ½ hr walking tour of town, we saddle up to taste wines at two of the most popular wineries in Amador County.
We’ll then cycle a nice 15-20 mile loop through rolling hills along this picturesque valley, exploring the finest wines of this laid back and friendly area. Rest assured you’ll get a taste of the "Old Vine Zinfandel".
Along the way, we’ll enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch with stunning views. After you’ve soaked in the moment, you’ll finish your day by viewing the working sections of a winery.AvailabilityYear RoundLocationSacramento, CADuration8 hoursEssential InformationYou will travel between 15 & 20 miles via bike east through moderate terrain with an elevation gain of 500ft.
