DescriptionWe have all heard that fire can be made without matches, but who can really do it?
During your course, you will cover knife sharpening, one match fires and the 3 most common fire making methods: Flint and Steel, the Bow Drill and the Hand Drill.
You will start the day learning the simple One Match Fire technique then progress to "Flint and Steel". Here you will start a fire with local Ohio flint and a char cloth that you will make yourself.
Then it’s on to the "rubbing two sticks together" method of the "Bow Drill" where your expert instructor will take you step by step through the process of making fire with this ancient technique.
Toward the end of the day, you will learn the techniques and tricks associated with the more difficult "Hand Drill" method.
Finally, you will examine more modern ways of making fire such as: using the desert Jello® or antifreeze and brake fluid from your car.
Perfect for the outdoorsmen, or ourdoorswoman in your life.
