Essentials of Top Roping - For 1 Person
shipped from Cloud9Living
Description
Top rope climbing is where the climber is always protected from above, minimizing the distance of their fall. With an attentive belayer, a falling climber on a top rope will only fall as far as the rope stretches. With proper rigging, this is by far the safest form of climbing.
Enjoy this private top rope class climbing in either outdoors at John Bryan State Park or Ohio’s premier indoor rock climbing facility that features 8000 square feet of textured and sculpted vertical terrain with heights ranging from 28 to 56 feet. This gym is located in a beautifully restored, mid 19th century church with stain glass and all!
Topics covered during the class:
- Review of needed equipment
- Equipment inspection
- Dynamic principals
- Proper shoe and harness fitting
- Proper tying of 3 separate knots
- Bomb proof anchor setting
- Directional protection placement
- Forecasting a dangerous situation
