THe FIST printer I have not fought with!
By C. Aandahl on 2/9/2010I love this printer!
I was worried that it was going to be disappointing, because it was so inexpensive.
I Got it and it was SO simple to set up/install.
This is the FIRST printer that did not argue with me.
It is WONDERFUL for the cost!
It is so simple to use even a caveman can install,print/copy and scan with it! -
Only negative review I have ever written
By Jennifer Connell on 2/8/2010I don't think I have ever written a negative review in my life, but for this product I will make an exception. The printer never realizes when it has paper in it and if it does it often jams. I see that this is a common problem from other reviews. Also the scanner would not work on the first one so we returned it but the scanner does not work on the new one either. The most frustrating part is the paper feeder which takes about 10-20 tries of reloading the paper to get it to work. Save yourself the time and hassle of this machine and you will add a few years of free time to your life. -
Paper feeder jams common
By Kathleen E. Newell on 2/4/2010I have only had this printer for two months & already the paper feeder is broken (feeds unevenly and paper jams) rendering the entire printer unusable (except for scanning). I researched it online with key words pixma mp480 & paper feeder/jams and found that this is a commonly noted issue with this printer. BEWARE. You cannot return printers after 30 days. -
Works well......but goes through lots of ink
By Jim on 1/26/2010Received this printer with the I-Mac. We like the features e.g., copy & scan. However, as noted in other reviews, this printer eats up the ink. If we were printing more B & W, I definitely would consider a laser printer. -
awesome for personal use
By a-n-b on 1/23/2010i love this printer, it works great. its not SUPER loud but it does make noise but that's fixable since it has a "quiet mode". picture quality is good, it actually surprised me. i also like that it has preset templates, for example you can print a checklist or "notebook" page just by selecting the option, i also like that it has a button to print color copies and one to print black and white copies this works great since you don't have to turn on the computer to choose a setting. it can actually do a lot of things without a computer except for maybe printing a document that's ON your computer but it can print it without the computer if it's on a memory card. i was expecting some updates from my lexmark 3 in 1 dinosaur but i was just amazed at all the things this printer can do. I'm sure if what you want is a for heavier buisness use you might disagree with me but if you want it for your average home use its perfect, and the price is a total bargain! the ink is a bit pricey compared to lexmark but i purchase the XL and i really dont print too many things so it works for me.
