This weekend, I read a great article in The Times about GroomGroove, the website to help grooms participate a bit more fully in the wedding planning process. This is just one of a sudden slew of really well done, really helpful new websites out there, so I thought I’d do a quick round up.
If you’ve got a ton of friends and a huge family and a big wedding party to go with it, you are going to LOVE eweddingteam.com, the site has planning tools, but the REAL gem of it is the way that it connects and keeps your wedding party in the loop. PLUS bridesmaids and groomsmen and anyone else you invite into your “network” can participate in anonymous polling (no more fighting about the budget for the dresses) and communicate via the sites messaging tools to coordinate secret shower planning meetings.
On the gift front, we all fell in love with wishpot, the fantastic registry miracle site (I must recommend it to everyone we work with) but now I have a small crush on eDivvy.com…. I actually didn’t know what to make of it at first until Mayra wanted to use it to buy our friends a bugaboo as a shower gift and then we thought we should use it to buy our other friends a grill as a wedding gift… and maybe it would be good for… well, you get it. It’s half like evite, half wishpot, half Amazon (lol, that’s also, 1.5, but whatever.. it’s early in the morning).
On the registry front, I had already written about this on Nearly Wed, but it deserves a second mention: Set Your Table Top tool on Brides.com. Frankly, I would register at Bloomingdales for several reasons, but this tool MIGHT make my decision to do so a slam dunk. If you haven’t checked it out, you can basically see HOW each of your china and flatware choices look all together AND, once you’ve made a choice, simply click and it’s automatically added to your registry! I have spent hours planning my fictitious registry tables top on thing and…. well, you may too. EVEN your groom could get into this!
Finally, if you don’t have this on your radar, you should, SavvyScoop has a weekly giveaway of something cool/ useful called SavvySteal. This week it’s a Kedai Photo Kiosk- which is like a photo station for your wedding where guests can download their pics of the day and it will display for your guests during the reception! Pretty cool.
